2014's Baccalaureate students from St.Peters School have started their service at Lake Te Ko Utu.
A very sucessful planting on Arbor Day, followed by another on the Saturday by the Young Business people, left the really hard work to the young St.Peters students. They worked along the top half of the bank that had been cleared of big gum trees, in soil that was little better than a sand dune. Although the digging was easy, the moving around was not.
In August 2017 another group of baccalaureate students worked here. There is a lot of replanting to do still, as the old gum trees occupied a big area. These students planted 130 trees in an hour.
