This week we weeded a planting that we call Meadow Walk 5. It's next to the houses at the end of Fletcher Place on the Leamington side of the river. The planting is assailed by privet, and blackberry, ivy and honeysuckle have moved in as well.
On Tuesday, which was a brilliantly fine day, we had 18 people turn up. On Thursday, brilliantly fine but frosty and cold, the tally was more like 8. Nevertheless, we filled the truck and added to the huge pile of green waste at Greenscapes.
A passing balloon provided an interesting diversion. It was high and barely moving in the very light zephyrs of breeze.
The Meadow Walk is a big project. We could spend a year there. Honeysuckle is rampant at the Alpers ridge end of the track. We'll do what we can and move on. We've still got planting to do.
