Thursday, 19 the March already, and we're paying attention to the Rimu Grove. We're cleaning out weeds and the ubiquitous privet and blackberry. The dry soil has sent some of the roots very deep in their search for water and weeding is therefore hard work. We were glad when morning tea time rolled around and we could enjoy our first Easter eggs of the year.
We have a major problem here in that several trees have been infected with something. We've had experts look at it, including at least one from Scion, without getting a diagnosis let alone a cure. These photos show the flaking and oozing bark that goes with the problem. The trees are also losing whole branches of foliage.All we can do is cross our fingers and hope, unless somebody turns to who knows the answer.
