Tuesday 24th February 2026 was a bright sunny day just like summer ought to be.

We went to the little Ruru St. planting, which had grown weeds with the same enthusiasm as the other places we attend to. There were only a dozen of us, but the planting in Ruru Street is small and the weeds were mostly grass which pulled out fairly easily. In addition, the site slopes steeply, so we don't have to bend very far.

We had the job done in about an hour and had morning tea a bit earlier than usual. The sun was getting hot, as it should in summer, so we didn't want to go elsewhere.
