Jim's Patch at Payne Park
This little Cambridge tree patch is on the edge of Payne Park, beside the Community Garden off Vogel Street. Jim McKnight was a long-standing member of the Tree Trust and we put in a stainless steel tag to honour him, His family planted some kauri there too.
The land this Cambridge tree patch is on slopes steeply down to a flatter area above the land occupied by Riding for the Disabled. Another, older, Cambridge tree patch covers the higher part of the slope and we are working on the lower part in 2025 and 26.
