Cambridge walking paths - the Appleby Shared Path.
This Cambridge walking path was made by the Council to provide better access to Cambridge High School for the pupils coming from the new subdivisions in St.Kilda. Without the track, there is a major hike for several blocks to get to the school and even more to get to town.
Pupils from Goodwood School made the initial planting, with some parents to help, but eventually the weed mat decayed and the weeds took over. We cleared them a few years later and now maintain it fairly regularly, along with the other Cambridge walking paths that we look after.
This path is well used by cyclists and runners, as well as walkers at all times throughout the day. It's not just for school children.
